The difference between Ryosan Gata and Jirai Kei -❤︎-

For today's blog post, I would love to share my current favourite Ryosangata and Jirai Kei fashion that seems to become on-trend and more popular in Japan and in some Asian countries!

Ryosangata fashion always come with Jirai Kei. Both have a very similar aesthetic style looking and aren't actual fashion subcultures in Japan, they're both stereotypes. The term Ryosangata or Ryosangata Otaku actually used to describe a phenomenon of girls that dress the same way. What stands out about Ryosangata girl is the soft kawaii cute feminine look. Mainly focusing on pastel pink and white while Jirai Kei is more pink, black and purple. Makeup of Ryosangata is usually very dolly and not too dark.

Jirai Kei literally translates to landmine or landmine type. The darkest isn't the fashion itself but the background of it. The original girls who started wearing Jirai Kei mostly suffer from addiction, mental health, emotional unstable, harmful behavior, homeless or jobless. Heavily based on the teens hanging out in the night life of Kabukicho and a personalities that do not match their appearance. The term Jirai is not a nice phrase but as it getting more popular, it evolved into a J-fashion that we know of today. The makeup still very dolly looking but in a darker colour palettes. Some outfits resemble to lolita or dark girly style featuring laces, ruffles, frilled skirts, blouses and prominent platform heels giving out dark aura in a cute innocent looking way. Since Ryosangata and Jirai Kei fashion become popular and trending among teens. It is normal to dress up in these style.

My favourite Ryosangata and Jirai Kei clothing brands : DearMyLove / LizLisa
