The choice to go back to the standard Jedi vs Sith narrative pisses me off especially since this is the first time the series has shown the High Republic on screen, the freshest era has been dragged back to the same old story.
It also irked me that the first time we see this era of Jedi on screen, at a time they're supposed to be at their best, is a story about such an immense failure on their part. This is the first impression of the High Republic for a LOT of people and it's been coloured for the worse with this story.
Nit-picks aside I found the core concept of Osha's corruption really compelling. Seeing the manipulations and distortion of the truth that the sith are known for in full force was really unsettling (in an awesome way).
AND THE STRANGER......... I know I was just complaining about the presence of Sith in the story but he is easily the highlight of the show for me. His careful manipulations, the way you can see he shifts his approach between Mae and Osha, it all builds up this unsettling aura around him. His costuming is amazing as well, the sleeveless robes suggest his Jedi origins corrupted to allow him to fight and kill more efficiently. AND THE HELMET..... AGHHHHHH I LOVE HIMMM.
Overall while I'm disappointed a lot by the overall ideas presented I found it salvaged by strong character moments and THE STRANGER. 7.5/10
