i've been having trouble with writing lyrics that have a bit of flow or that little twang of sadness some people get when they listen to songs (laufey, mitski, adrianne lenker) .. when i do write from the heart, i think it sounds like an old song from 2020 that most people would make fun of ( ꩜ ᯅ ꩜;) .. does anyone have any tips for flow and or making better lyrics?
any tips to make lyrics have a better flow / impact?

I struggle with the same problem so I'm definitely not an expert, but just let it come to you - if you look for it too hard or think about it too much it could sound fake or just simply not as good. I recommend writing down things or ideas for lyrics when your upset or in the moment of whatever you want your song to be about. and also just write anything and everything you can and then you can come back to it to downsize on what you think is better or not, but it's always better to have more ideas than less. also for me what helps is if I'm writing something for a song, I will write freely what comes to my mind and then search up rhyming words with whatever my last word or lyric was. I hope this helps!! again I'm not any song writing professional either but just from my own experience
