Kpop idols should not be punished for being human

I know this is a lukewarm take but idols are humans! I'm tired of people acting like an idol vaping is the end of the world. You'd really think that an idol murdered somebody by the way that their fans react when a picture comes out of them smoking or dating someone. It's genuinely so lame that idols can't be themselves. I wish that idols got the same freedom that western artists get. Like if Beabadoobee smokes, nobody cares. But if Wonyoung smokes, twitter explodes. I just don't get the double standard. However, I will say that it has a lot to do with the infantilization of these idols. ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY GET PUT IN THE INDUSTRY AT A YOUNG AGE! Just because an idol was 17 5 years ago does not mean that they're still seventeen. Like to this day, I still see people acting like their idols don't know what sex is, it's actually insane.
