Hello! It's me Joint. Today I'm trying to figure out how to run the screen-reading program called NVDA on Linux using Wine. You're not gonna believe this, but it's been a pain in the butt. After hours of troubleshooting, I finally figured out (with a friend's help) that the issue is that NVDA will only read out what is being run in Wine. The solution is either, one, run the Windows version of Firefox in Wine, or two, figure out a way to make NVDA function outside of Wine. IT'S HARD! UGH! I have no idea what I'm doing. But - it's something I want to do. The best way to test my websites and blogs for accessibility is to directly test them using the screen reader. Yay! We will figure it out.Click here for plain text!

Does firefox readermode not work on the sites you look at? It works well for reading out news articles wikipages and even work pdfs I get sent
Ive always just used that to have stuff read aloud to me while I follow along
i can try it !! but the whole point of using NVDA is getting familiar with a common screen reader and making sure that specific one is compatible
