When I was in around 4th grade, I was super into watching this one YouTuber TheLameGamer, as in he was my favorite YouTuber who I would watch religiously. He used to have this series with a few little mods that was especially focused on the Herobrine and Slenderman mod called Living with Slenderbrine, which really was my introduction to not just modded Minecraft but Minecraft altogether. Interestingly, the most memorable part to me wasn't actually the content of his playthrough, but the way he would go about describing the mundane parts of his life like cutting himself while doing the dishes or working his job at RadioShack (RIP RadioShack, you will be forever missed). I never really got too parasocial with his content, in fact, I don't think I ever commented on his video until much more recently. See, he took a really long hiatus from posting videos, barely uploading content for a while, then stopping altogether for three years, before coming back more consistently recently. It's fascinating to read his current comments of people who also were really into his Slenderbrine content as kids, most of which are around my age. Being part of such a specific small community is a surprising thing at first, but I did grow up in a big Creepypasta boom. (07/19/2024). — Mars ᓚᘏᗢ |
