Itz like mostly everybody on the internet nowadays is so rude to everybody and for no reason whatsoever. Either ppl r too chronically online now or it just kinda happened and i get that the internet has always been kind of a wacky place but now itz just like no one is showing empathy for anyone whatsoever. ;p
Why is everybody so mean nowadays?

i think theyve js stared at a screen for too long that they forgot were all still people at the end of the day :<

Its genuinely so sad. A lot of places online actively reward garbage behavior (like twitter and tiktok, hence why I refuse to use either) which has definitely made the problem significantly worse than it used to be.
The only thing I can think of to do is to find spaces online that promote kindness, but thats better said than done :(
So much of the online space these days is ragebait hell and im kinda sick of it

It's because on the internet everyone is anonymous and there's no way to punch someone online. Furthermore, the legal consequences are much smaller on the internet than in real life.
