I feel like people think hate and racism toward South Asians is okay, meanwhile for others it’s not.
People are so casual with hate for every South Asian, stereotyping them and just calling them slurs, seeing them as inferior .. objects.
And not many are knowledgeable about South Asians. They think all of South Asia is poor (similar to how they think Africa is like). Dirty, and etc.
There are wealthy areas in every country, and poverish areas too. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh are not poor, dirty.. and a common misconception that the streets are dirty, and nobody uses a toilet.
Like some parts East Asia, South Asia and Southeast Asia both use the normal toilet and the western toilet. The western toilet is more common though in these days.
Racism and stereotypes are not okay. I suggest being knowledgeable and researching instead of putting people in a box, thinking it’s okay to see them inferior, be racist and be stupid.
I always get assumed to be either Hispanic, Filipino, Japanese, other southeast parts of Asia.. but never Indian. It’s because I’m a pale tan, and I don’t stereotypically look like how an “Indian” should look like. :/ This is how stereotypes are harmful. I’ve also gotten hate and so much racism on me just being Indian, and not speaking the stereotypical language that people expect Indian’s to speak, be from and look like.
