I’ll probably be separating this into sections?!? No clue what exactly I’m going to write about here and I have no clue how blogs work here so wish me luck 😋!!.

Villains

I cannot stand the movie villains honestly. Within the first movie it was fine they like fight a big dragon and stoic is sort of the evil guy within it.

Which fits and I’m fine with it as he is a good villain like he actually feels like a character. And I feel something towards his character I actually care for this villain. Stoic within this was great as he was well written and actually had layers here where he was yknow hiccups dad.

Which is why I think it’s well done.

Yet within the second and the third I feel like it just gets… a little eh.

They’re just guys. Angry grumpy dudes that are edgy and hate people and stuff.

Can’t even remember the second movie villains name he is that irrelevant to me. His like family died to dragons. The monsters that they’ve been at war with for years…. That like… yknow… eat.. humans…

I like wonder why his family got killed??… when he’s been fighting with monstrous flying beasts that like to eat things??. It’s truly a mystery.

Logically many have probably died to dragons of course??, sure some may have done something about it but they didn’t throw this big of a tantrum in response to it. I mean like good on the guy for doing something with his life and working to get revenge. But I really don’t feel shit for him. He’s like, just some guy. He is just some dude he’s really not anything. He’s sort of just irrelevant.

Same with the third movie villain. I think his name was like grimmel??. Probably idk I’m not looking this up I could really care less.

But he’s again just some edgy guy that runs around killing night furies.

That’s all I remember he’s just some dude because he’s not anything important. He’s some shitty edgy dude that is increasingly unmemorable.

Anyways.

Before I get more into this I have another rant I’m slipping in here.

Anyone who says that the series’ are irrelevant or non cannon suck :(. Seriously like-

SPOILERS FOR RACE TO THE EDGE BTW!!

If hiccup hadn’t saved that bewilderbeast egg and given it up his mum wouldn’t have ended up with it in the first place. Which is soooo important 🙁-

I am a heavy race to the edge defender like leave my baby alone.

Anyways also.

Take race to the edge villains for example.

Like Johann, he’s some dorky trader that talks a lot and is a little annoying. He’s a constant character that will appear and show up throughout the series and then woah sudden betrayal and turns out he was actually the villain behind all of this. He’s a good villain and I actually feel about this character he actually feels like a character unlike movie villains who are just guys.

Viggo is a great villain as well I liked that he was just a business man he was driven by his greed and need for money right but he still got along with the gang on the very rare occasion. And he actually had some good moments. He was funny and smart he was a good character and I can’t really hate him as I actually feel for him. He’s a good villain.

And finally Dagur my absolute favourite httyd character ever over everything there is. I fucking love him sm he’s hilarious.

He is a great villain. He hates hiccup and has a personal vendetta against him actively wanting destroy him. Yet he’s rather funny and witty making him a likeable character.

Throughout the series he develops and eventually he works to save hiccup and the two become close forming a brother hood. And I fucking love that so much. He’s such a cool guy and he’s incredibly loveable he was given the option to be good and to change and he did so.

Dagur is incredible and my favourite character ever :3.
