How to use SpaceHey, a Guide for New People

Hi so I saw a lot of people new people on here confused on what to do and how to use SpaceHey so I thought I'd make a post :-]

You just made an account, what should you do now?

I suggest that you decorate!  If you're into HTML you can inspect the page and see what containers are in certain classes and whatnot and get to editing.  If you know HTML, but don't want to re-haul your page from scratch, I suggest going to the Layouts page, pick something you like, and edit it.  (that's what I did for my accounts!)  If you have any questions about HTML, leave a comment and I can try to help!  I'm not an expert but I'm decent enough to help you guys get by if you need it :-)  Here is some helpful resources:

Right off the bat you need to know that you're not going to get a typical social media experience. From what I know SpaceHey is a blogging website, so after decorating your profile go to the blogs and check out some topics you like!  I like going to the most recent and replying to posts.  There is also forums, which are not like live chat like discord, find a topic you like and share your thoughts and check out other peoples.  Sometimes people do a "--> (username)" to reply to what someone said, and you can do the same, but they won't be notified (obviously)

Find something you're interested in and make a blog about it, blog about your day, recipes you find, songs you like and good orders to listen to them, your art, if you want make a page dedicated to something do that too(which is something I did if you want to check it out here!)  Blog and blog and blog and just have fun doing it, you're not gonna get crazy kudos and interactions but its still fun.  And if you want crazy kudos, help out the site by being more proactive in reacting to others posts so everybody gets the memo!

You can also join groups, though not as active, there are a few big ones.  Join a group that seems interesting and leave a bulletin or reply to other peoples topics/ bulletins!  Bulletins are basically temporary blog posts (I think) you can set an expiration date, leave a title, description, and other people can reply!

What if I'm not that interested in blogging..(which is STUPID cuz thats the whole point of this site)

Explore the more social side of SpaceHey.  Check out the people in the blogs, see if you click with anyone and add the ones that you seem to vibe with!  Somebody has something that you like in there profile?  Send them a friend request or message.  One thing to be wary of however is that people seem to be inactive on this site and that a lot of people don't get notifications( even with the mobile app), so don't be discouraged if you don't get any replies.

Conclusion

go out and make some blogs, check out the most recent blogs and interact with people, have fun!  youre not going to get a typical social media experience, you're not going to have live back and forth instant conversations, but you will have fun on an individual experience and it will definitely be worth it to stick around :)  I know I always comeback every few days to weeks, to months, but I normally always come back because I just love how customizable and fun this site is.  If you're looking for more oldweb type stuff I suggest checking out this group, and also neocities!  There's so much more to explore on the internet then just Twitter feeds and Tik Tok fyps, go out and explore(I know I need to more lol) Thats it, bye bye!
