art ideas that get me out of art block

ever want to draw but don't know WHAT to draw??? here are some silly ideas that i've used to rip myself out of art block and actually draw something for once

1. draw your friend's fav character: ask your friend what they're fav character is atm and draw them!! makes a nice gift for your friend too

2. outfit swaps: swap your ocs/favorite characters' outfits!!

3. draw your fav as miku: idk why but it's really fun.... like drawing your favs wearing miku's outfit specifically is like super fun to me

4. draw a silly comic: the comic could be anything from one of four-panel twitter comics about your thoughts to a fully-fledged action-filled superhero comic!! could be with your ocs or make fancomics with your favs (most of the time i just draw x-men comics haha)

5. redraw a screenshot from your favorite show/movie: could be anything from drawing the original scene with the original characters in your style, or drawing different characters over the scene!!

6. draw your videogame avatar: could be anything from roblox, the sims, some early 2000s dress up game, whatever!! if the game has a character creator/is one, make a character, and draw that lil guy

7. use an alternative style: late 2000s emo drawings on mspaint, 80s anime, rubberhose cartoons from the 1930s-40s... anything you're not used to, try it!! could draw your favs in that style or make an entire oc with that style (could make several characters with different styles and have them interact)

8. draw a character from a book the way you interpret them: if you have a favorite character from a novel, try drawing them based on their description in the book + throw some of your own headcanons in there!!
