Anne of Green Gables (From an Islander’s POV)

Any time I hear someone mention Anne of Green Gables to want to (respectfully) pull my ears off. Anne of Green Gables is a really beautiful story, don’t get me wrong. Lucy Maud is a talented writer, but growing up in the capital of Prince Edward Island, our economy depends on the success of the story and it is EVERYWHERE. It’s so tiring…

I don’t even know why I dislike it so much…Perhaps it’s because I’m desensitized to it and know the story quite literally by heart. But DAMN….
