How does it feel to dress (slightly) freely at school?

Ever since school started, for me, I've never gotten to dress up and actually think on what i should wear since we HAVE to wear uniforms.

The uniforms are okay i guess, i could wear small decorations like kandi bracelets, earings, hair clips, etc etc… but anything else is too far. Dying your hair here would make you look like a crazy person, like, no joke. x((( I’ve gotten used to having to wear uniforms so I don’t exactly care about changing things, I’m just very curious.

I’m aware dress codes still exist out there, but how does it feel to dress how ya’ll want? Even if you still have to simplify it, tell me!

I’m not here to judge, and I’m not here to bully. If anything i just said sounds weird (weird as in offensive or wrong) pls tell me! I’m just sharing my thoughts and I’m curious if anyone else relates ;;; ^^

It feels amazing. I've been able to dress freely in preschool, kindergarten, and all of high school (and obviously will once again when I start college on 8/26/2024).

1st - 8th grade were a different story where I had to wear a stupid uniform, though uniforms weren't strictly enforced at either my elementary or middle school, and on Fridays, my mother would let me wear whatever I wanted.

There was also a point in middle school where I'd sneak normal clothing into my bag, change out of my uniform in the girl's restroom right before 1st period, and wear my normal clothing until I would change right back into a stupid uniform right before 6th period started. However, I stopped doing this after a certain point in 8th grade due to mental illness draining me of all of my energy at the time.

I used to heavily customise my school bag with patches and buttons to look cool. I also had a cool jacket that I painted a comic book character on the back of but apparently it violated the rule about logos on coats (they just hated me looking emo) so I had to stop wearing it
