BRING BACK REAL LEATHER IN FASHION. like seriously. im honestly so tired of everything being vegan leather, it never lasts long and a lot of the time it ends up having quite an ugly finish. im currently trying to look for a studded belt on vinted right now and EVERY SINGLE TIME i see one i like i swipe to the next picture and that shit is peeling so bad. and i know thats kinda my fault for looking for one second hand, of course its going to be peeling, but i dont really have much of a choice as nowhere near me sells what im looking for and i cant find anywhere online that sells them that i would trust with my credit card info. and what makes this even more outrageous is the fact that these people are selling these belts for easily 50 great british pounds sterling. like £85 for a belt thats separating horizontally and is peeling more than a sunburn victim is criminal, that thing is gonna disintegrate if you look at it wrong. not to mention most of the time these things arent even designer. like why do you expect me to pay £70 for a belt from FUCKING ZARA. now i know for a fact that belt was nowhere near that much when they bought it first hand, hiking prices up that high should be a crime punishable by death. see now if it was real leather... maybe id be a bit more understanding, not much but a little, but aint no way you expect me to buy a plastic belt thats on its way out for 50 POUNDS and second hand at that, no thank you.

No becuz it's not even leather??? Its just... Not leather. If it doesn't come from cow's skin then it's not leather.
With the pricing tjo i wholeheartedly agree. Went to New Look the other day to look for sum Camis for summer and it was £40 for a fake leather jacket... At NEW LOOK
£40 at new look is actually outrageous... who the actual fuck is willingly spending more than £20 in there??

Genuinely have no idea... Like I got a few dresses for cheap there before because I was going to Italy and it was going to be hot, and it was fine, because it was nice and cool fabric. But this is the bloody UK nobody's going to spend that much

honestly, like the only time i ever really bought from there recently is the sale rack, i found this cute pair of shorts for a fiver. there may not be a zip on them but theyre still cute.

Another thing that frustrates me is how all the chavvy girls can get away with wearing a leather jacket, but the second one of my friends wears one (we're the weird/emo/nerds), they're teased constantly for it. Like come ON

Tbh it sucks so much... The nicest quality clothes si have are from Matalan and Superdry
But then again, if we had legitimately good quality, intresting clothes, nobody would actually buy it, would they?? =(

I keep saying this! Vegan leather is such a greenwashed scam, it wears out so quickly and it was just plastic that's destined to rot in lanfil all along
like i get that its cheaper and everything, but i honestly would so pay extra for real leather because i know its going to last me YEARS, like that thing would probably outlive me if i take proper care of it.

A decent real leather belt is going to be expensive, leather is not an easy to work with material. Vegan leather is cheaper, hence why its so popular now.
I have a hand made leather belt i bought from the Amish back in highschool (ive just been adding extra holes as needed) it has lasted me forever and i dont even take care of it that well, as its my daily runner for a belt. It was expensive as hell, custom design, but a belt like that will last you your whole life. Especially if you care for it with leather conditioner.
If you want a good belt I suggest saving for a few months to even a year and finding a leatherworker who can do it custom. It will last you forever
yeah, hopefully i can get one one day.
