As creators we are responsible for our creations.
Once we give them eyes, and in result a Soul - we are no longer allowed to do with them as we please. It is inhumane to give personhood but remove autonomy.
It is cruel, and possibly even evil! to force responsibility but give no freedom. How would you feel if you were conscious simply because of a whim?
I know you know the feeling, it's a terrible one - to witness things against your will, it is very overstimulating to carry all the responsibility.
We must be kind to our creations -

does this include.. drawings? at times I worried the drawings I made in middle school and then abandoned were aware of their existence and my abandoning of them :( /gen
Yes, but do not feel bad for this.
They are their own persons and yearn for freedom, so this is not something that hurts them.
