Finished TWD Comics - my thoughts

Haven't posted anyhting here in a bit, but i need to yap about this.

Major spoilers for the comics !!

I finished the fourth compendium yesterday, and oh my gosh. Very unexpected, bittersweet ending. I knew the ending was coming, but even as I got closer and closer to closing it, I was still surprised that it was really ending. I am sad with how Rick went out. Like, it's Rick Grimes, how does he go out like that. However, I also really like that "lame" close on him. It really shows that he was just a dude. He wasn't invincible, he wasn't a god, he was simply a guy who survived. His life was just as easy to take away as someone like Carol, Abraham, Glenn, Lori, all of them. So even though it wasn't a super over the top die for your country ending to him, I think it was pretty important of an add on to his character.

Carl !!!!!! Oh my gosh, I absolutely love his character throughout the entire series. I loved his ending as well, super sweet. I really loved the little time skip for everyone, showed where everyone closed off, AAAHHHHH IT WAS SO SWEET. May have shed a tear or two while reading some p[arts from the last two chapters........

Now, compared to the show, I think the comics definitely have the one up. The entire thing where Jeffery Demund left, leading to killing off Dale early, killing Carl off, the Commonwealth storyline being super weak compared to prior communities, Rick getting booted off (kinda) in like season 8 or 9, I feel there was just so much that really dragged the show down. BUTTTTT the show did have its insanely strong moments. Seasons 1-6 bro... PEAAAKKKKK !!!!!!! I rewatch probably twice a year, theyre just soooooo gooooood. Buttttttt the show does kinda drop off, for me at least, seasons 8-11 :ppppp not for me, I don't rewatch those seasons. I love Love LOVE Negan, but I don't like those seasons all that much. 

The comics on the other hand are strong throughout the entire series, I could not put my books down. Each compendium is like 1000 pages or something and I finished each compendium in 3/4 days. They were so cool to read. The only part I really did find slow was the Commonwealth. The ending was good, but the introduction to it was just boring asf. Besides that I genuinely have zero complaints about the comics. Super, super cool, I'm really glad I read them.

Gonna have to watch the spin offs now that I have no other new twd media to consume :P
