dumb phonezzzz

I've been gone for a while, going through a TERRIBLE breakup. BUT I've been thinking about something lately. I've been heavily considering getting a flip phone to encourage myself to do other things with my time and decrease my usage. I'd just use my computer for social stuff and gaming and all that jazz. A lot of the modern flip phones I've been looking at run android which works for me (I currently have a Samsung), and they can run social media apps, they're just slow and not good for that kind of endless easy scrolling.

Right now, I'm in between three phones- the Cat s22 flip, the Samsung Galaxy Folder2, and the Freetel Mode 1 Retro 2. Here's the thing though. All three of these phones work here in the U.S. where I live, but my long-term plan is to move to Tokyo after I get to at least N2 with kanji. I've been studying Japanese on and off for 10 years (I'm still a beginner though, heavy on the on and off), I was learning Spanish for my partner's family, but now that we're not together and I can only consider myself in my life plans, this is what I've decided. The Freetel Mode 1 Retro 2 is the only one with a Japanese keyboard. If the Samsung Galaxy Folder2 had a Japanese keyboard instead of the Korean one it has, it would be the perfect phone for me. When I go online, the general consensus is that the Cat s22 flip is the best flip phone, but I don't know if it would be the best for me. Also, (and I normally would not have a problem with this) it's not a very nice-looking phone. It's bulky and thick because it's supposed to be for people who are doing heavy manual labor. It's durable. I don't really need that. I'm studying language. But there's one more problem!!!

Everybody my age that has taken the dumb phone route that I've seen is also using a smartphone and just uses their new phone as a backup. I'm just wondering if there's anybody on here that is like me and wants to only use a dumb phone and a computer and maybe a tablet of some sort for digital art or something.
