Why is it so hard to find Scene/Alt clothing in Southeast Asia?

I’ve lived in Indonesia basically my whole life and i never got to experience 2000s fashion to the fullest, plus at that time i was basically still a child… ;;; a baby even.

And now that i get to choose my own clothes, i’ve come to realize that it’s so hard to find anything remotely alternative that isn’t either emo, punk, or goth. Not that i mind, i love seeing it! But where are the scene kids? It genuinely pains me to see how rare it is to find someone even liking this style at all here. :(((

I’ve considered the idea of it being rare because of the city where I currently live in isn’t that open to that type of fashion, but at the same time i can come across at least a few people that i could consider alt. And i’ve also considered it was rare because this type of fashion could be deemed as weird here, which I completely understand. And honestly if any of my statements feel a little weird (as in offensive or wrong), pls tell me!!! I’m just sharing my thoughts and im curious if anyone else relates! ;;;

Now, i’ve tried online shopping, and it is easier to find something cool! But it’s still a little rare. I also hate that when i do find something EPIC, it always just not my size!!! #HEARTBROKEN💔 (skill issue honestly xddd)

Ehhh, complaining won’t really do anything.

What do you guys think? Anyone else having problems finding good clothing for their style? Tell me! ^^

honestly finding clothes anywhere as any kind of alternative is so hard. personally what i recommend is looking for clothes you see potential in and either upcycling them or styling them in a way you like. for example i have this one knee length skirt o bought because it has a pattern on it that reminds me of old liz lisa clothes but i dont like knee length skirts so when i wear it i either pull it up higher and roll the top down or i wear it as a dress because thats what fits my style more. you dont have to wear clothes exactly as they were intended to be worn, i think this kind of mindset makes shopping a bit easier because instead of having to try and find clothes that fit your style 100% you can find clothes that have something you like, like a pattern for example, then adjust it to be your style. sorry if this was explained really bad, im not that good at explaining things.
