hellos, it's eugene~ this was originally a bulletin post, but now a blog post so i can keep it forever (possibly) and maybe have more people share their thoughts. :3
so, i went to a k-pop store a while back. they mostly sold newer groups and albums, which makes sense obvi bcuz they're popular and, well, new. but it sort of got me thinking-- what would it be like to open up a store focused around some older k-pop?
to be honest it’s not a super fleshed out idea, and i know it’s practically impossible because of costs and where to find things, but there’s so much to imagine… what if it had cd players to preview the cds like old music and book stores, posters, all along the walls, maybe even some interesting magazines… cute stationery, bracelets and keychains…
regarding the ~impossible costs~ mentioned earlier, i was also thinking about combining it with a small café, or generally a place to relax and chill. but idk, that might cost even more lol? generally i was thinking about the shop serving as more of an experience and space rather than just a store to visit for a short time if that makes sense, considering the lack of places to hang out nowadays. but again, high costs… also have no idea what events it could possibly host to garner interest, lolz. and what would we serve? being me, it would probs be boba and desserts, but idk.
moreover, how would it be decorated? i'd probably lean more into something similar to my profile, cool and futuristic yet comforting and familiar. but would it really fit all the styles of old k-pop? i don't think so...
anyway. if you got this far, thank you for reading! what do you think? what would you have? how would you decorate it, what would you add?
