AKIRA’S SO FRIGGING COOL

I was thinking about the first volume of “Akira” ever since I binge read it this morning, lol

Y’know, I really love stories (especially Sci-Fi) that explore a loss of innocence in an mc, whether that be from some sort of new responsibility or hidden power, especially when the character in question has to confront figures from their past (Tetsuo in Akira for example, or Paul in Dune)

Plus, the artwork in Akira was stunning, ngl, specifically the landscapes and close-up shots.
