Hey SpaceSleepers (38): Barnes & Nobles has a CD Section ?!?

My friend and I met up today, as planned a few days back. I've struggled for the past few meetups due to an honestly quite awful bout of horrible sleep as well as just a mixture of physical illness and melancholia. Our last few meetings as a result ended up quite tense since as patient as he is, it still was not likely a positive experience of me being so absent from our meetups. However, I was struck with the idea of showing up early today and sneaking up on him on the maimai machine after he finished the song. As we were at the arcade, I won a strange little plush with a quite wistful peaceful expression in a claw machine. I was quite drawn to its resemblance to one of the TWICE Lovely mascots except it had a wise dreamy look on its face that I found so attention grabbing.

We grabbed food from nearby since it was cheaper than that of the prices of food deeper in the city. I do have to say that it was quite nice to catch up with each other after not hanging out for a few weeks. After food and a visit to one of the many bubble tea shops in the area, we headed into the city, as our original plan was to visit the Barnes & Nobles in Union Square. It was quite a bit of a trip, only extended by the child seated beside me that kept his shoes on the seat next to me, moments away from soiling my shorts or shirt with the soles. I didn't mind it as much as you'd think other than keeping a watchful eye on the distance between the boy's dirt laden sandals and my white shirt. He's a child and children might be a bit weird but I really don't wish to judge them as I had been judged as a child, it doesn't serve to benefit me.

When we did get the Union Square, we tried to look for the Moomin collaboration section but only later found out we missed it for the two hours we were looking due to it facing away from both the up and the down escalator on the first floor, only discovering so when we left the DVDs and Music substore. Speaking of that substore, I spent about thirty minutes combing through the CD selection to find CDs I was interested in, mostly looking out for Mitski CDs (I know, very banal and uninteresting how I actually enjoy Mitski). I ended up finding a few Gorillaz CDs and soundtracks before I had finished my very painfully dedicated search for Mitski came with the fruits of the Bury Me at Makeout Creek album as well as the new Nayeon mini-album (NA) since the Barnes & Nobles version came with an extra photocard and she is my favorite. I will definitely come back when I get the money to since they had an interesting selection that I have seen a physical store carry in a while with the base prices rather than the hell that is trying to buy a used CD online as they either don't carry it or its deeply over priced if its a popular enough release. The album I found was honestly hidden in the M section so deeply that it did take me a while before finding it. (07/13/2024).
