Victorian and modern homes

I live for the architecture of Victorian homes, one or two stories, but do so many people insist on turning the interior modern, and painting everything white? Modern homes look very bland to me (My opinion) I want to be an architect when I'm older, and design classic victorian homes, do you think there is still a market for it or should I just find a new career?
