Mid-summer updates

My summer so far has been pretty normal, nothing really extravagant or anything, just chilling at home. On the weekends though me and family go out and just drive around, so that’s been nice. Been reading Witch Hat Atelier, and got a book from Barnes and Nobles, about the life, art, and words of Tove Janson (creator of the Moomin’s) so I’m pretty excited to start reading that. Still needing to finish reading The House In The Cerulean Sea, got it about 2 months ago, and I’m still only in the first few chapters, I don’t know why I do that 😅.

Listening to this artist called Yaelokre, they are this really cool artist who portrays themselves as this group of four characters known as the “The Lark” who use singing to tell stories of ‘fables retold and unsung: from truth to fairytale, granting voice to the stories of Meadowlark.’ Keath Ósk is the creator of this project and their art and music is so cool.

Movies I’ve watched so far:

  • Juno: (★★★★★) Loved the soundtrack, and Elliot Page, and Michael Cera are just amazing. The movies humor, and overall vibe were really enjoyable, and warm (does that sound weird??)
  • The Blair Witch Project: (★★★★) Like the found footage/documentary style of this movie. I know some people don’t like it because of its lack of gore, and I guess typical horror elements but I guess that’s what I did like about. Creepy, but not overdone or anything.
  • Superbad: (★★★★★) Really fuckin funny, and Michael Cera.

Shows I’ve watched so far:

  • Dungeon Meshi: (★★★★★) Amazing, everything I look for in the fantasy genre. So glad I caved in and gave it a chance, literally in my top 5 anime’s, and I’m super pumped for season 2!
  • Brooklyn 99: (★★★★★) Still only in season 3, but this show is an absolute gem, and so funny/entertaining. I love Terry, Gina, and Rosa.

Recently read the “The guy she was interested in wasn’t a guy at all” and oml that manga is cute, and fluffy! It’s a gl (girls love) manga, and it’s about these two girls, and one of them (Aya Oosawa) has a crush on this boy at a music shop she frequents, but he isn’t a boy! He’s actually this girl (Mitsuki Koga) that sits next to her at school, but in school she looks totally different, then compared to how she looks at the music shop she works at (which is her Uncle’s store). So yeah it’s super cute, and isn’t weird or anything, and GAAAHHHH I just love it so muchhh!!!

Man I am so dreading getting my driver’s license, I haven’t even gone to practice yet, but it’s so been nagging at the back of my mind. Like I’ll probs be decent at it, but the whole process of acquiring it sounds so tedious, and meh 😒. Though I mean hopefully when I get it I can get out a bit more (who am I kidding), and take myself to places, that always sounds fun lmao. Like I would love to take myself to the library, especially since my local library opened back up, and I really have been wanting to go. Don’t wanna keep dropping like $20 a book when I could literally check it out beforehand for free, yk?

Anywho I’ve yapped on long enough, Imma end this with some sentence from a random song:D
