Song Blog

I think it would be be cool to start a song blog kinda thing where I upload at least five songs per week that I think are cool and add a little comment of my thoughts about each song, but mostly I'm a music addict so this is more of a coping mechanism lol

hopefully this might introduce you to songs you haven't heard or remind you of songs you already know

I might also chuck in a summary of my week depending on how I feel, to be fair I don't really think anyone else will read this or care about it so to me this is more like an open diary or screaming to the void idk

without further ado here are my first songs of choice:

1. A Better Place, a Better Time (youtube.com)

this is honestly a strength song for me, it's a song about holding on to life and dealing with depression, which is something I and many others have struggled with. Also it's ska music which is even better.

 2. Talkshow Boy - I Cut Myself (youtube.com)

Another depressing song except this one is probably more self destructive. one of my favorite lines is "I think I'm all together but I tear my myself apart" it perfectly sums up how I feel most of of the time

3.Suicide Is Painful by ONSIND (youtube.com)

I love folk punk music and this one honestly just sums up a lot about my brain, also the first verse about documenting sadness really got me since I've been journaling through my shit for the past five years. This is also a fun song to have on repeat since it's pretty damn catchy

4.Transvestities Can Be Cannibals Too (youtube.com)

In a Q & A video the musician specified that the song was more so a metaphor for bullying rather than being trans, his inspiration for the song came from the horror films he enjoyed watching at the time regardless I find it to be a fun catchy song that uplifts me as a trans non-binary person. Also this song would be great to sing in a basement with a group of other punks

5.The Pussyboys - dumb boy energy (Official Music Video) (youtube.com)

This one probably is the most out of place in my selection, but I choose to classify it as pop-punk so it's close enough. Honestly I love how fun and carefree the video is and it's taking a spin on the 90's but making it queer which is amazing. The song is currently sitting at 46k views and it'll be great to see it grow. This is also the band first released song so I actually get a chance to be a fan of something from the start!! (sidenote: they are also trans which makes it even better!!)

thanks for reading my first blog post, I'm a crap writer but I still wanted to give the whole blogging thing a go [:
