what's everyone's opinion on shifting?

I remember old shifttok and I never knew if it was real or not. I'm very fascinated by the concept tho, so like is it legittt?? I can imagine myself going to the saiki k universe and getting kicked out by saiki LOL

I don't think it is real tbh. At first it just seemed like a way to help people during lockdown to take care of themselves (if you drink water and excersize you will shift etc.) but I think it got out of control real fast. People would lie and say they shifted and tell their friends. These friends would feel like they were missing out on something, try it themselves, fail but lie to other people and say they shifted. Because they didn't want to feel left out.
It also felt like a dream, an escape of the situation at the time and something to mentally escape. So I think that was the appeal to most people. And mostly teens who had a lot of fantasy but were too "old" to express it in other ways.
To say it was mental illness seems a bit far stretched. Sure there were likely some people who hallucinated and believed it was real. But I don't think that's the majority of them.
It doesn't seem like a cult but something to help teens and give them the motivation to take care of themselves that spiraled out of control.

when I first heard about it, for a while I thought it's some way to manifest a better life, so imagine my face when I discovered that it's about hallucinating yourself into (the most popular) harry potter world to date draco malfoy xDDD it's not easy to make me cringe, but this one killed me, I'm sorry. people who claim that they did that got themselves into some serious dissociation issues.

Me and my friend were super into it when it was trending. My friend claimed to have actually got to shift for a short second but quickly shifted back out of nervousness. As for me I never got to shift. I don't want to ask her about it as we were pretty cringe back then and I'd rather forget about it but she was probably just lucid dreaming.

honesty i never tried it man but i think the people that claimed it worked.. ehh it either was this mega cult of schizophrenic people, people that just had a very rich imagination and sort of daydreamed or lucid dreaming

I do believe in Astra Projecting and it is part of my regular practice so I suppose shifting could be possible with that viewpoint but I find the idea of thinking up a world, controlling its rules and governing the way the people in the world interact with you is a bit- far fetched. Humans don't have that kind of power when astral projecting let alone like any lmao. I mean if you condition your brain to think of a single concept of a world repeatedly your brain WILL dream about it which is more of an intense form of lucid dreaming. Which I find really cool! It's a pretty awesome thing to do by itself so it really doesn't need the romanticization of "creating universes" to make it interesting. It's difficult yet rewarding if you want to try but you're not popping into a different reality and Draco Malfoy isn't real and he didn't ask you to marry him. I think it leads people into dangerous levels of spiritual psychosis if we push the idea of that. Which can be extra dangerous for younger people. Just my thoughts tho I won't invalidate any person who does shift unless they ask for my opinion.

I think abt shifting a lot to this day lol. I never really tried shifting, but I read up and practice law of assumption (identity shift), which isn't that far-off a concept as shifting (consciousness shift). At least to me, in theory, it's doable in a sense? But idk, shifting to Harry Potter to marry Draco or whatever seems like heaps of fantasy bullsh,t to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
