Regarding "THAT Top Blog": A Spacehey Essay/Commentary On Our Community

THIS IS GOING TO BE A VERY LONG BLOG! PLEASE CLICK OUT IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN THE CURRENT DISCOURSE OF SPACEHEY. If you're "not gonna read allat" then please leave I don't need retards who lack media literacy in my blog for ACTUAL discussion <3

(Purpose: to archive and document this discourse and start further discussion by allowing users to see all sides. THERE WILL BE A TLDR AT THE BOTTOM)

To those who are not chronically on Spacehey, about a week or so ago, a user by the name QueenJFS posted a very controversial blog amassing over 200+ kudos/comments. The wording of the blog could have been better, yet she further explained what she meant in multiple comments. Nevertheless, many, MANY people misconstrued/misinterpreted the initial blogpost, causing a divide in the Spacehey Blogs section.

Check the top blogs right now, there are people giving their opinions on "general controversial topics" that wouldn't have been discussed had it not been for this highly controversial blog posted. The comments of those blogs are filled with discourse and differing opinions. The lack of media literacy has been thoroughly showcased given the mere existence of these blogs and the choice words. I'm here to give a commentary and a full perspective as someone who has added JFS and is also qualified to give my opinions on certain topics.

Unfortunately, I do not have an archive of the deleted blog, but I do have good memory. A lot of you guys misinterpreted the post. This controversy opens up a larger discussion surrounding child safety online.

Minors being hypersexual online:

Is this even something I need to be saying?? I feel like even typing this out will put me on a watchlist. Anyways, the initial point of the JFS blog was, well, minors shouldn't be calling themselves hypersexual as it puts a target on their back. Although poorly worded, JFS later explained themselves. This seems to be the main topic of discussion, so here are some examples of people's reactions with some commentary to go alongside:

This is an example of a high kudo blog that pretty much says what a lot of the other blogs will be regurgitating. My issue with this blog is the BLATANT LIE that kids deserve to be groomed. Nobody ever said that. Nobody ever said gore is okay, and nobody is victim blaming. JFS is against gore and children being groomed. (Hell, the original JFS blog OP was literally groomed) Simply put, children should not be displaying on a public profile on social media that they are hypersexual (and frankly there's no need to display your other illnesses/disorders/whatnot. That is PERSONAL information.)

What happened to online safety? I see minors putting hypersexual in their bio and you guys frankly are no better than other minors who are putting fetish label blingees Aswell. It infuriates me how many people assumed JFS was a creep and even went as far as to fake claim their SA story over this "controversial opinion". Is it really that controversial to speak about children's safety online?? Someone saying that MINORS should not be stating that they are hypersexual should NOT be controversial, many of us older people do not need to know that! It actually makes us uncomfortable!

It's not your fault you were assaulted, but the unfortunate truth of the internet is well... creeps see any vulnerability and take advantage of that. You're literally putting a target on your back and stating this does not make me a creep at all. It's an objective fact that putting yourself at risk for something... heightens the chance of it happening. Given the state of Spacehey at the moment I highly advise people take personal information down especially if you are underaged. While you guys are young, you STILL need to practice digital footprint and online safety. The adult will always be at fault yes, but there are measures you can take to stay safe online, its seriously not that hard. This next blog says it best:

-->

Although I've been focusing most of this blog on minor safety, there is a point to be made about the misinterpretation of the "gore" statement that JFS made. The entire point of the post was to also highlight that overly crying about the rampant gore issue is the cause of the gore raids on Spacehey. Gore is wrong, and JFS made a point in multiple comments and even edited their blog to make that more apparent, yet people assumed that JFS was pro gore... Finding people complaining about an issue is not the same as being for or against it. It's honestly stupid that there's a bad case of black and white, "I love pancakes, so you hate waffles" mindset on this website.

The effects of the JFS blog are astonishing. While everyone on the internet can have an opinion, it's odd how many of you people who appear to be "open minded" did the exact opposite and harassed JFS into deleting the blog. Fake claiming the Autism, dyslexia, her SA, and even going as far as calling ANOTHER MINOR (JFS is 17) a r*pist and pdf is deplorable. It genuinely became a hate mob, absolutely disgusting, for MULTIPLE reasons. Great job for watering down the word groomer guys! Great job for watering down the word r*pist and pdf! Flinging around that word to anyone who doesn't agree is exactly how SA becomes normalized, and REAL victims' voices go unheard when these terms are simplified and watered down and flung at just about anyone who you disagree with. As someone who's watched this all go down it really really made it hard to believe that some of you guys are victims. I'm someone who has been repeatedly assaulted for multiple years of my life, and I treat those words with respect. You guys are honestly disgusting for using heavy words as "simple insults". (And before you start, NO calling someone a retard is NOT the same as calling someone the above words mentioned. One is a "slur" only online people care about and the other literally silences actual victims.)

conversation screenshot with JFS. I contacted her in order to get permission to make a blog.

Anyone is welcome to argue with me in the comments, try and keep the discussion civil. I won't be deleting comments unless it's "not reading all that". Don't go out of your way to harass JFS or anyone in these screenshots. And to mods I hope I don't get suspended for "starting controversy." Archive this blog if you would like to incase it gets taken down. I also wanted to add this screenshot to wrap things up.

although the original blog in context is against the sort of blog I am making right now, I still agreed with their portion here^

TLDR: JFS's blog on "the old web" was largely misinterpreted and caused unnecessary harassment, trolling, and showcases a clear lack of media literacy and comprehension in the Spacehey community. It's not your fault if you are groomed, adults should know better but DO try to keep yourself from becoming a victim.

This gets so tiring sometimes, this has been happening everytime someone makes a blog that's either worded aggressively or is against most of the userbase.

I wasn't here in the very beginning and heard people say this place was more civil, chill, and more of a mixture of people and opinions until it blew up on Tiktok. I don't want to sound like I'm attacking kids but I feel like they're just not understanding how to share a space with adults. I also believe since they're so young they have a modern internet culture mindset and it's clashing with people who genuinely want the "wild west" culture.

I have noticed internet safety seems no existent and I wonder if it's from most websites being squeaky clean and heavily moderated. Like because of this oversharing is normal to them and it never has any consequences. It could also explain they're not used to people being against them so they think fighting and reporting is what you're supposed to do.

I was using chatrooms at their age and I get getting emotional and feeling the need to fight the bully, but what happens on this site is extreme. I'm talking about the callout blogs. With the chatrooms if there was drama, it was contained in the chatroom. I've never seen anyone spread it outside the chatrooms or try to tell random people in other parts of the website. But I have seen people spread rumors outside the chatrooms, this was done to get people to view them as innocent while trying to turn people against someone else so they can easily lie about them and not let anyone know the truth. These are the goals of some callout blogs I believe, it would explain why I get spam reports of topblog users claiming they spam gore or they're a groomer. It's a tactic to get rid of people they don't like.

If people would just let others have opinions and a voice without getting mad that would solve a lot of problems. I agree with minors shouldn't be oversharing private info and I said this in another blog but I am suspicious of adults who push kids to be open about it. There is no reason for an adult to be talking to minors about their sexuality. I will view them as a predator.

i joined myspace pretty recently (like earlier today recently) and it's kinda creepy as i've seen lots and lots of drama, fighting, and talk about pedophilic activity on a 12+ app. I state minor for people to know its illegal to interact with me with sexual interests. I personally like how you did share there is infact a block button and what not 2 do, as some children (possibly under 13 with no clue on pedophilia.) may join. Thank you for stating these issues- i can be on a better look out, have a good day!

LMAO don't try to act like you weren't being a rude POS in their blog comments either. Your comments are still on the archived link. Everyone who reads my blog and clicks on the hyperlink can scroll down and see how rude of a person you were being. Don't try to flip this on JFS when you started being a rude b8tch first. You could have easily asked for clarification but instead you drew your own conclusion and immediately assumed that JFS is pro CP and pro gore.

We also had an entire argument under that original blog. Don't try and act like you're all innocent here m8

Also again with the typing quirk. Its not as bad as it was in the other blog but you'd think someone with a host of mental illnesses would be courteous to others who have a hard time processing words

if u did read them all u would know i apologized for how i reacted i waz going through stuff then also why r u being such a b1tch when i wasnt being one in thiz comment stfu u just wanna start thingz tbh also again if u read any of it u would know id have to type how i do bc of anxiety

Many kids clearly got their hands on the tablet too early..Like, I was like that myself, did I discover the Internet in the year 2017.And I was probably 9 years old, and then he wasn't so cruel anymore, but there were still moments that I obviously shouldn't have seen. And why did this happen? Because as a child I clicked on everything, especially if my interests were there (drawing and mlp). And that's why many people want to "Protect children on the Internet" so as not to "break their psyche," but let's think about what breaks the child the most? sex.Statements on the Internet from some unknown man in his 40s with a cute profile? Or a REAL man in his 40s? I had a period when I was feeling lousy and literally dying on the bed, neither relatives nor friends helped, so the only place where I could calm myself down and help was the Internet. It just seems to me that it is necessary to teach children so that they adjust the Internet to themselves and do not get caught on trolls, do not click on loud statements, and of course, do not catch U_U rickrolls..

I will forever tell people what my tutor is school said:
Going online is just as dangerous as going out in public. If you wouldnt say it to a stranger on the street, you shouldnt be saying it online.

That sentiment has helped me a lot, especially when i was a child.

This genuinely upsets me. I think Spacehey, from what I know (and I haven't even been here that long), has just really turned into a drama site for me, and it makes me think that the apple did not fall far from the tree (myspace).

Something that plays a big role here is the oversharing culture on (primarily) TikTok and how people feel that they can share anything, anywhere, and not be in any danger whatsoever.

People have been sharing anything and everything. It's been so normalized to hear stories and think of them as "drama" or "gossip" when, in reality, that story you're sharing or forwarding to others is something you or someone else really went through. People pour their hearts out so much on the internet that the line between Online and Real life has been blurred, and some people even put their faces next to their very personal stories that, even though no one ever needs to know, they recount in verbatim. Not only do they feel like they should do this, but they also think it's completely okay to encourage others to do so and harass those who think otherwise.

The same goes for people who say they're hypersexual online. They are oversharing because the surrounding community has encouraged them to do so. I highly doubt that there isn't at least one person who identifies as hypersexual who, at the very least, is a bit uncomfortable with sharing that information with other people. It's treated as something you shouldn't be ashamed to say publicly when the real reason you don't say it online is for your well-being. I think minors (15 or below) also tend to make one single thing their entire personality, specifically if they are constantly on the internet. The label hypersexual is already trouble.

I don't think anyone is discouraging anyone from learning more about themselves. Do you think you are hypersexual? Great, keep that to yourself until you're of age. I don't need to know that, your friends don't need to know that, and the p3dophiles lurking on every corner of the internet certainly should not know that. Being a minor doesn't excuse you from exercising online safety. Outside of the online world- talk to your parents, maybe a psychiatrist, because being hypersexual in most cases comes from unresolved sexual trauma. Work it out without having to share your problems with millions.

Just because no one can put your name next to your story online doesn't mean you're not living through it. The only person you harm when you overshare about yourself is you. You are the only person you make a spectacle of when you overshare about your personal life. Learn to live outside of the digital world. This goes for adults, too. Stop oversharing so goddamn much. I don't need to know the size of your shit after a taco bell order.

People don't just need to hear that not everything should be shared; they need to learn that it's okay not to share things. It's okay. You don't have to share things you don't want to share. Do not let others pressure you into sharing things you don't want to share. This is online safety 101; don't share private information.

But then again, when has social media ever changed...

I haven’t been on spacehey in legit idk how long, especially because of all the blogs with drama/callouts I couldn’t care less about. But today I went down this rabbit hole (or whatever you wanna call it) with you, JRS, and xeviant & didn’t really get it at first, but I thought about it and everything came together so I wanted to say this was explained so well and is very true/important to read. Obviously people will continue to not understand and continue to make drama bullshit sadly, but hopefully this will have some people actually wake up

This proves that no matter what good intentions have this kind of sites, there will always gonna be shitty people with fucked up minds.

Obviously that grooming minors IS bad. Obviously that there is no way that you can talk with minors about sexual topics, OBVIOUSLY.

I think that the people that put those comments in QueenJFS posts, aren't really preoccupied about the safety of minors in internet, but because they just wanna fight about anything so they can get rid off their frustations.

And what about putting "hypersexual" in their profiles?! On internet?! What the fuck?!

I never saw the original blog just one of the blogs in the screenshots without context as to what it was talking about specifically because I don’t keep up with Spacehey drama all that much I’m already mentally archiving the art commentary drama and that’s tiring enough, but I think people should’ve just asked clarifying questions and suggested ways in which JFS could’ve worded herself differently to get the point across better, no one deserves harassment and fake claiming no matter how much you hate their point of view or what awful things they did.

yep exactly! I hate how vile people are on this site. Someone says the wrong thing regardless of political standing and immediately gets hit with a "so you hate waffles?? I hate you you should die"

instead of asking for clarification. Dumb people for sure

i honestly never read or saw JFS original post, but i saw the response to it. it was a mix of kids wanting to do whatever they want online and avoid taking action themselves, and then people who completely blamed the kids. i wasnt much concerned with JFS's stance, but there were people in the discussion who were blaming csa victims. so unfortunately it is an opinion thats out there and we just have to move on from that and be cautious. i think a large issue with this whole "controversy" is that people are forgetting how inexperienced and (for lack of a better word) feebleminded kids usually are. kids shouldnt go around talking about sex in any space, but that message should be delivered a little more gently. (yeah im taking the snowflake approach here). especially with kids of this generation, who are known for their awful education and spending formative years in quarantine. their bad decisions often arent their fault and are simply because they dont know any better. if anyone goes around saying "kids are so stupid for doing this!!", the kids are gonna get angry and defensive. if people just relaxed a little, and remembered theyre talking to middle schoolers, maybe the conversation would be a little less heated.

I wasn't even aware of this whole situation until now but even outside of spacehey people continue to water down terms like hypersexual, groomer, pedophile, etc. Accusing someone of having inappropriate interactions with a minor is literally life ruining. The fact that people would use insults like that over a blog post stating their opinion is appalling, a true victim of abuse would never call someone such a thing.

Being on here for maybe 2 months and I completely understand the issue of the minor and adult mesh here and talking about is so important. So I thank you for discussing it.
What's more unsettling is the number of friend requests I receive from minors when I clearly put I'm 28. Even after I stated in my bio a dni for no age/minor. Its a simple fix of deleting requests/blocking.
I want to bring up something that everyone's been saying for a bit- the number of Only Kid spaces offline and online are much smaller than ever before. I see the influx here on this site much more than any, and I believe we as the adults have to remain adamant about Our Own boundaries of not interacting with minors. They literally do not know any better because they think they're grown. They don't want to hear this but if an adult is reaching out to connect- it is CREEPY. Please minors, only interact with ppl close to ur age or join a school club idk!

another thing that got misinterpreted was them saying that people who freak out about gore accounts are why they keep showing up, people took that as "if you dont like gore stfu and stop complaining". queenjfs was right about that bc the people who do that want attention and people acting like spacehey is doomed or ruined forever, and we serve that to them on a silver platter every single time

Fr the gore accounts usually get euspended very quickly so its not lie making a blog post or block list is really helping anything other than give them attention. I regularity report gore/tcc degenerancy yet I never go further than mocking them a bit on my bulletins
