what was YOUR favourite concert of all time?!

(this was a bulletin from 3-16-24 but i wanted to keep it for the mems!! everyone's responses will be down below)

What was YOUR favourite concert of all time and why? OR, what concerts are you looking forward to? OR OR, if you haven't been to any, is there a concert you wish you could have been at? please.. do tell 👀

sorry this is gonna be a long post because september 24th, 2022 was the greatest night of my LIFE
Nitzer Ebb, Ministry, NINE INCH NAILS.

my husband and i drove 5 hours to cleveland for this one. we lost our hearing, we got sweaty and bloody, spent the night at a shit hotel and got 0 sleep. it was poetic. this concert replays in my mind every single day and it's been almost 2 years now.
nin were inducted into the rock hall in 2020, but because of covid they never got to play. so they made up for it with this show. some of the alumni secretly got on stage during the frail into eraser, and it was fucking mindblowing. thank god my husband was recording at the time, because he caught me going "IS THAT CHRIS VRENNA? OH!!AHH!!!WHOO!" lol

we got what i considered to be the most crazy seats of all time? right next to the soundmixer with the most perfect clear shot of the stage. i got to talk to some of the crew and watch them work, and even the security lady, who KEPT TALKING TO ME ABOUT HOW HOT ALL THE GUYS WERE. i loved her, she gave me a nin security badge paper thingie too.

here u can see us in the crowd in an ~official~ photo by kraw

uhhh yeah so TELL ME YOUR STORIES!!

Mine was probably Ozzfest 98. It was only like my 2nd or 3rd concert. Tool was the headliner. We ripped every bit of grass off of that lawn and tossed it around in the air and moshed through fire pits made from paper cups. A bit destructive yes, but an experience I'll never forget.

i'd have to say the chameleons at the boileroom in guildford! tiny place, middle of summer, it was as the name suggests absolutely boiling. but that only added to it i feel - i came out drenched in sweat and grinning ear to ear. distinctly remember buying a bottle of water on the way out and the first sip of that was soooo nice after several hours in close proximity to 100ish people in what was essentially a very loud sauna. they played soul in isolation, my favourite song of theirs and it's alreayd 7ish minutes long but they added snippets of covers between choruses and kept it going for probably 15 minutes, it was incredible

that was july last year, a month that was wild for me in terms of music - i saw pulp, blur, and arctic monkeys in massive venues and the chameleons and tribute bands for the smiths and radiohead in little clubs all in a couple of weeks. but the chameleons stood out, mainly because they are such a ridiculously good band with such a small following that they can only really do intimate little gigs and it felt so special.

i'm seeing two of my absolute favourite bands in a few days though so i reckon this is going to change soon - manic street preachers and suede's joint headline at alexandria palace park. i've seen suede twice before and both times were strong contenders for my favourite and the manics are. incredible. very very very excited

I've only been to one, I went to Melanie Martinez's Trilogy Tour in May and it was like beyond words dude, shes incredible. But there's 2 I wished I could've gone to; MCR had a reunion tour show ON MY DAMN BIRTHDAY in the next state over from mine and this year's WWWY festival. I was actually gonna go but my date can't make it to Vegas and I've got some life stuff going on around the time it's happening :// (but I'm totally dragging them to next years, we'll be in the same state by then and can better figure out travel plans X33) Anyway, despite all that I'm still so grateful I got to the trilogy tour, I went w one of my other friends and my step sister and it was to this day one of the best nights of my life :]]

Seeing MCR at their Philadelphia show was definitely my fave -- and I almost didn't end up going! But I'm so glad I did. Between POTS and stomach issues I thought for sure I would end up either passing out or puking, but I managed to not do either it was a blast.
