i hope everyone's been staying cool from the summer heat.
i've recently started taking steps to minimize and disengage from the big social media sites like Instagram, Facebook, and more. I deleted my snapchat years ago and I deleted tiktok off my phone in April. i deactivated my facebook this morning and plan to deactivate my instagram sometime this week. i also plan to comb through and delete apps that clog up space in my phone
i really want my internet habits to revert back to a time where i could spend the day online reading comics and playing games, not worrying about what former classmates or distant acquaintances are up to or if i should try to engage with them. i want to take control of my life back. i need to be normal lol
planning to be a lot more active here as well as other forums and small communities. i miss the small personal feel of the net and really enjoy what this little nest of a site has going for itself, so i really do wanna stay on here for a long while.
in terms of reverting back to the old days, i've been reading a lot more manga and watching more movies (the movie part being something i couldn't imagine doing as a kid, but i love it now!) i have over 500 movies on my watchlist, so i'll be keeping myself really busy for a long while.
now if anyone needs me i'll be scrolling on tumblr and watching anime on youtube as everything holy intended things to be. until next time!
E
Edit: I deactivated instagram shortly after!

Admirable. I wish Facebook Messenger wasn't the primary meas of communcation in this whole country - simply not having it on my phone is already a massive pain for both parties involved, but thankfully the people I interact with value my integrity enough to not be pushy. I do kinda need that acount though, but even if I didn't I don't like deleting things. Link rot is a betch, even if the links are to social media sies. And Facebook Corp. can handle that.

Yeah, for me i keep my accounts, but make an effort to keep the apps off my phone so I don't feel pushed to constantly be checking/opening up apps.
