Heya! :)) Worm here again, hope you had a good day!
I'll be calling these one off art posts, well... Art Posts.
Anything that isn't part of my college plates or pieces that are only a small part of them
will be posted as art posts :))
This one serves as a cover for another of my college plates and also my avatar :)), this time we were tasked to make full blown Zines. Zines are like bite sized self-published magazines that can be about anything you want. They saw crazy popularity in the 1960's and 70's (Originating in the 1930's) among a wide variety of subcultures, from music all the way to politics and to visual arts.
The cover is meant to represent that feeling of praying to a higher power only to be met with silence. A vast static seems to surround you with nothing so much as a response.
I visualized that through a mirrorlike image where the figure is looking - as a worshipper would look at the sky to establish a connection to god. The white line being an intersection point between the earthly physical and the heavenly divine.
Anyways, enough with the artsy fartsy blabbering :))
*This is a cropped version to hide personal information*
I'll be posting the rest of the Zines contents as a "College Plate" entry soon.
Thanks for reading :))
Have a good one and drink lots of water, Love you bye :)))
