I technically have tribal Slavic countries in my own lore (although it’s mainly Polish history turnaround), but at the same time not super into USSR? Kinda situation like you have with TR, but it’s the opposite for me, the USSR at least has much more connotation with problematic stuff and damage that runs in my family even. Not super nitpicky about it but I might have different focus.

Not a problem. I’m barely here anyway. Overall it’d depend on what do you want to focus on in discussing headcanons but I think what’s mostly prominent in my tribal stuff and that I don’t see often in general in the fandom is that they are in fact, that pagan interpretation of a “demon”, as in a spirit of this kind which’s life is bound moreso to the entire of the country rather than just a part like a forest (and not in the typical Christian like way lol). As well as my tribals in the place of the flags do have moreso either battle standards, emblems or symbols that came up/were very often seen in a certain nation.

A portion of the community is like that, yes, but I despise them with my whole heart. I don't even have a TR in my canon, I just don't feel right portraying THAT in such a way. My canon is mostly Balkan-focused with a subfocus on early Slavic tribes/medieval Balkan states.
