Yeah, everyone has said this before I know. However, the real take is that it shows how much people let themselves be controlled by whatever music reviewers say. You can like an album even if Pitchfork says it's a 6. You're not going to die. The public needs to stop paying attention to what Pitchfork says and let themselves like the music. Even today, people are still letting themselves get controlled by what music reviewers say. Music reviews are purely the opinion of the reviewer. If I said I thought Taylor Swift's new album was boring, a lot of people would disagree with me. That's because everyone has a different ear for music. Just because an album was rated a 6 on Pitchfork doesn't mean that it's "bad" music. It just means that the reviewer didn't like it. However, sometimes there could be issues with mixing and production. But when it comes to sound, you can't really assign a number to it.
