Another made in abyss theory (Spoilers, ONCE AGAIN)

So.............Some spoilers ahead

im mostly pulling things from the first season, and a few from season 2 so if u havent seen them fully, i recommend you do!!!!

This theory is about why i think Reg is called Reg.

As told , riko named Reg "Reg", because that was a name of her old dog. But when faputa talks about knowing Reg in the past, and his name still being Reg, why is that?

Well, i think it was Lyza who named both the dog and Reg, "Reg".

It would make sense for Lyza to leave behind a gift dog for Riko, before going for her last dive. So im guessing when she met reg down in the 6th layer, where he was probably stationed as an interference unit, she would send him up for some reason, and give him a name that Riko would know about.

I also think it would be a cute mother-daughter moment that they both thought of the same name :)

TLDR: Reg was named by Lyza so Riko would know he was sent by her mom.
