Journal Entry #109: 07/08/24 - Climax of Summer

I'm not sure if I ever mentioned this in any of my blog posts last year, but the Fourth of July is the climax of summer in my opinion. The beginning of last week was meh, but it got better as the week went on.

Late on Wednesday Zenless Zone Zero came out! It's pretty fun! I love the character designs and all the style the game oozes. Much to my surprise, I pulled von Lycaon in the standard banner! He's so cool, but you'd never see me drooling over him like others have lol. I also love the urban music, it's super fitting and groovy. I hope to play some more when I am able.

On Wednesday night I was able to enjoy some fresh watermelon as well. Nothing beats eating fruit in season! On Thursday, I went with my family to my aunt's house. We talked about politics, college, high school, life, and various other topics. One of my cousins is a web developer, and we talked a little bit about tech stacks and the Busy Beaver Problem. My aunt made some strawberry cake while we were there, which was extremely sugary, but also extremely delicious.

On Friday, I went with my dad and my sister to test drive a car that my grandmother might buy. It may be for me, but it also may not be since my grandmother has gotten into a few wrecks (though none of them were her fault!). This Friday, we'll be test-driving another car to see if it's a good fit for me. I don't really care what the car looks like, it just needs to be able to drive! I can't wait to own it.

On Sunday, I ended up purchasing a cropped rugby shirt from American Eagle. It was on clearance, so it was super cheap! I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to wear with it, and it's not exactly in season since it has long sleeves. Oh well, I'll make sure I wear it.

Today, I finished up the newsletter and got put in a group chat with my new roommates. They seem great, but we clearly have different tastes, lol. They're big fans of pastel colors while I favor bold colors. They asked me about what we wanted to do about decorating the living room. I told them I don't really care, just as long as it has some sort of theme. Since they're freshmen, they're super excited for the school year, meanwhile, I appear a bit more jaded. I will say I'm a bit nervous when it comes to my fall schedule, but I'll save the details for a later post.
