I made a slight error in judgment but in a good way last week. I erroneously said that my "tour" was on hold until July 27.
Yesterday changed that.
Received a text from the singer of Evolution who asked "Can you fill in on 7.7 at this golf course in Wayne?" Okay so much for my hiatus ;) But I'm always glad when any cover band asks me to fill in, even if it's VERY last-minute.
So, yes, I played with Evolution yesterday afternoon at In The Drink. On a golf course. You read that right. After all I played a gig this past March with Supernova at a bowling alley. Waiting to do a gig on a ski slope.
Anyway, the gig was fine. Was very very hot and the sun was beating down on us real hard, even with the canopy overhead. Went through the usual list of songs ranging from AC/DC to Alanis, and even threw in stuff just for fun. Was nice to play with drummer Steve Adamo again, very solid dude. As for the crowd...well, it was pretty light, as to be expected since it was July 4th weekend. So be it.
Without sounding too presumptuous, NOW my "hiatus" starts :)
BTW: Golfers are some of the most pretentious, stuck-up people ever.
Change my mind.
