FIGURE REVIEW ☆ 2005 Rei & Asuka Nurse EX Figures

These gals came in the mail like a week ago.. I've put this off for a bit

I found them on Mercari JP, and picked them up through Neokyo. They were listed for ¥5,900 (~37.17 USD), and I got them for ¥5,150 (~32.04 USD) with a weekend promo for MJP! This is including tax & buyer's fee. ^_^

Out of the several middle-man services I've tried, I found that I like Neokyo quite a bit. I've bought 2 things through Neokyo so far, and it's pretty good! The promo's are a life saver lol. The website can be a little annoying to navigate, but I've gotten the hang of things.

 ☆ PACKAGING ☆

I didn't prioritize getting pictures of them in-box and don't feel like retaking them inside the packaging... Their boxes were a little dingy on the sides, but I care a little less about the packaging. (That also wasn't exactly shown in the listing, either..)

The plastic casing is good, it kept them in place. No complaints or commentary lol. There was a little plastic bit that went around the tip of the syringes to keep them protected in shipping. 

 ☆ OVERVIEW ☆

The girls in all their glory! I was surprised opening them to see they were completely attached to their bases. But, for being prize figures, I think their sculpt was really good! (The GIF's aren't that good, but I'm so tired of editing them that it is what it is.)

Their fingernails (especially Rei's) look a little funny. Rei has a little spot on her toes, which their roblox feet look a little funny lol. 

But, I they look pretty nice! I didn't have super high expectations for a prize figure, and an old one at that, but they're really nice for being (almost) 20 years old!

 ☆ MY THOUGHTS ☆

I have a few complaints about them. 

Although I do prefer the 2008 version's better sculpting & faces, I think they're cute in their own derpy way. But, my biggest complaint is with Rei's dress & position.. If you aren't looking down at her, you can see her full chonies. My desk has a built-in riser shelf that I put all my figures on, and from where my seat is.. she's all exposed.  

I own several suggestive figures / merchandise which are a lot more risqué than Rei's situation, but considering she's fourteen.. I'm not exactly comfortable with that. (Yes, even if she isn't real.) I didn't see any pictures online that are from bottom-up angles, so I wasn't exactly aware coming into it that this would be the case. But other than that.. I still think they're very cute! I don't have enough space on my desk to rotate her (the base is considerably large) just enough to not be 'showing off' constantly.. but that's perhaps an incentive for future me to finally hang up a new shelf.

Packaging: 9/10. They were both unopened, and the packaging was cute. The plastic inserts that hold them are also good, the extra plastic sleeve to hold the syringe and base are neat. My rating doesn't include the condition they arrived in, but rather the factory packaging.

Paint: 9/10. Considering their age and being prizes, I don't have extremely high standards. There's some awkward painting around her sandals, nails, & stockings, but those are mostly only noticeable up close.

Sculpt: 9.5/10. Her leg thats propped up is sculpted a little odd. When you aren't up close, the bottom part of the thigh looks like a dent. The leg naturally isn't 100% sleek and straight, but I also get that shading wasn't in the picture for manufacturing.

Base: 10/10. No complaints here! They fit the theme & the little pill deco is cute. The base is huge, but it's neat. :-)

Enjoyment: 10/10! Despite my mild criticism, it doesn't bother me that badly. I don't look at her and hate it, I still think she's very cute.

Final score: 10/10!! I love her. She's super cute and is one of my favorites in my collection. ^_^ I love all the random figures of her & Rei, and these two have been one of my top favorites for a while.

Sculpt: 8/10. The aforementioned skirt thing.. Other than that, I think the stethoscope pose is really cute. 

Base: 10/10. No complaints here! They fit the theme & the little pill deco is cute. The base is huge, but it's neat. :-)

Enjoyment: 9/10! I still think she's really cute, despite the unfortunate fanservice dress.. I think the two of them are adorable and she's also another favorite addition to my collection. As I grow my collection, I don't think I'll be getting rid of them any time soon, if ever. (fingers crossed)

Final score: 9.5/10! She's a cutie (despite the dress situation) and I love the two of them. My figure collection is a bit random, but they fit in with Sonico and K-Angel lol. I love them both and hope to get their 2008 releases aswell in the future.
