OLDER WEB - collection and experience

i always considered myself a creature of the older web. im a 00s kid, and a kid that had unsupervised internet. ive seen the old deviantart, seen the whole web being like a bigger 4chan at the moment, was raised by stuff that came off newgrounds. i dont remember my childhood, but the fact i was swimming free in the worldwide might be the reason i had a strong sense of deja vu when i got my hands on madness combat, picos school, and now, romantically apocalyptic. like, 'i know you, but do i really?'. yes, i feel sad about the fact i was just a stupid kid, so had no chance to get social at the time. how envious i felt when now, in a thinking age, i looked at how obsessed people were with my fandoms. like damn, at the moment nobody cares about hellboy, but when the movie came out in 2004, so many people liked it (and it was mostly kroenen). same with romac, how popular was it at the time... and the only people who know it now are in their 20s or 30s. i know what im talking about - cosplayed as zee captain with my friend as engie in may. the fact of ost+front being formed in 2008 doesnt help - imagine how cool would it be to find out about them in the start and be happy you listen to them to this day? and not even talking about half life.

trying to regain what i missed, i took wayback machine and some knowledge in my hands. when people say 'uncensored internet', its not just slurs and bullying left and right. i caught  myself finding rotten and gorechan - first being real gore (and now not working), second cartoon. dolphin dreams also was there! despite being poorly drawn, i found it interesting. i even found the way romac website looked back in.. 2013, i think?

anyways, to the point of blog. this is a small collection and a bit of a guide on a few sites (and a game), which, maybe, youll want to explore later by yourself.

main page meets us with a list of interactive gifs - though youd need ruffle or something like that - you can either go check out archives on serial killers, visit the gallery itself, find videos on mr. tamale or check out other links. wouldnt recommend subculture though, is known to open multiple tabs at once. not a virus, its just coded this way! i myself didnt check it as my laptop would blow up. pressing on the link in the middle leads you here -

remind yourself about the old but gold jodi - probably the most known web-art gallery. 

dont trust people who try to scare you with potential jumpscares there - it doesnt have this. a little flash of your ip and timezone though.. for that you just have to press a radar button between the links. consider it a quest. type in the needed password - it redirects you to a german website and i didnt figure out what does it do.

go back and press the first or second link - a web of servers (is that what im supposed to do after studying as a sysadmin?)

finally getting to my favorite part - worlds.com. sadly you cant play it right now, as i think the servers are down. i tried to log back in, but the account seemed to be deleted. making a new one was no use, vpn and stuff didnt help, and other people have the same trouble.

what are the worlds? as wikipedia says, 

Worlds.com, or Worlds Chat is an online chat program launched by Worlds Inc in April 1995.

just like the real world, the chat has a lot of different stuff. with use of the shaper tool, people could create their own worlds. and do other stuff...

the best and weirdest example of it would the nexialist:

if youre at least a bit familiar with worlds, you mightve heard of him. some people feared him. why? probably because of the cult myths, which are not confirmed, his use of shaper and maybe even his avatar, which i personally find cool.

overall, worlds are a rabbit hole. who knows what else you can find here? there resided people of all kinds - nobody excludes the presence of creeps. thats the thing you can find a lot of videos about, and learn about it yourself!

saying the same about the whole internet. itll never be studied fully, so go free and find whatever your mind longs for!
