Why does everything have to be about productivity these days? And not the traditional "doing things" productivity, as much as "consumption productivity". I don't suppose it's a consumer culture, but god forbid someone go through their inbox manually, ignore a notification, or turn off autoplay! While I haven't seen it for myself, I've heard about the videos where there'll be a clip of Family Guy or some other show on one half, and mobile gameplay on the other. I'm not all too torn up about it, as it's a natural evolution of Q&A videos with TF2 in the background or when I would spend a full day playing sped up Pokemon and watching a Chuggaaconroy LP, but still, it's offputting. It also hurts a little to see someone cooking and not able to take their eyes off their phone for more than 20 seconds. I guess I'm pretending I'm morally superior while I write this post at 00:30, and I can lie to myself for just a paragraph more.
The focus on productivity brings a new question to light: "How can I be more productive?" And the answer is that you just have to download this app to manage all 13 video subscriptions, let AI write email responses for you, and allow Weather to make and manage phone calls. But what if you weren't productive? Oh, what a hinderance on society you would be if you chose to be bored for a minute! Don't even consider removing any subscriptions- a survey run by company shows that XX% of people won't even consider dating someone without their premium plan in particular.
Anyways, I'm tired, so I don't know how sarcastic or wrong I am, and I should probably private this, but it's much funnier to fuck myself over in the future, just in case I'm still on that superiority kick.
