I've been dopamine detoxing for some time now... I'm not counting days or anything, but I believe I'm close to my first month limiting my screen time (TV, computer and smartphone) to 6 hours a day.
This July I'm going to reduce it to 5 hours and keep following this pattern until I reach a total of 3 hours a day.
I don't even know what my average screen time was before I started, but I pretty much passed my day jumping from one screen to another so I was basically connected 24/7. I only started to detox when I noticed how fast the days were passing.
Now that I reduced it, it's almost magical how longer the days feel. Some things that I never had time to do now can be done in a relaxed way, not worrying about time. This ended up being a nurturing process of other habits that I wanted to develop but never really started, like taking a stroll around my neighborhood to get some sunlight touching my skin, playing basketball (all by myself, which is a big step for someone socially anxious like me) and going shopping instead of buying everything online.
I don't know, I feel... human? You guys should try it!
