Gimme love // I don't need it

Love is strange.ย

Scientifically, one might say that this feeling exists solely for the procreation of humankind and to ensure the perpetuation of our species. However, from another vantage, love is wondrous.

Yes, I am aware that you have likely suffered heartbreak, as have I, but do not lay blame upon love itself. In truth, it is people who render love dreadful. Recall, the fault lies never with the thing itself but with those who possess an uncanny knack for spoiling all.

Individuals may possess all necessary materials to construct a house. Yet, whether that house shall endure any manner of natural calamity rests entirely upon their efforts. And, it is as if one cannot fathom their intentions; one does not know how they envision the building of your house, all you can do is place your trust in them. It is all a matter of trust.

In the metaphor, love would be the house, or better yet: the home. For home will ever be comforting, welcoming, and provide a space wherein good memories may be crafted with your partner. Yet, the decoration, the space of the house, the height, and all these particulars shall depend solely and entirely on you and your partner.

It all hinges on you, on your confidence. Create the most beautiful and elegant house in the entire neighborhood. Or if you prefer, construct a quaint cottage far from the city, solely for the two of you to share intimate moments. Do whatever you wish, but at least do it.

Do not allow a minor issue such as a leak, dampness, or similar within the house to ruin your entire relationship. All the love you have built, the home, do not permit it to crumble gradually. Do not argue over it, do not leave the problem unresolved, but rather solve it together and let it become merely another memory to reminisce and laugh about later.

I let my house crumble and lost what I loved most, but it is regret that gnaws at me most grievously. And it compels me to desire a life upon the city's streets, weeping to the sound of rain that chills me to the bone.

I no longer have a home. But I have found my way to survive.
