What to bring into dungeon (and what not to bring)

When going dungeon crawling, and adventuring in general, rookies have either packed too much/packed the wrong things, or packed too little when going on their long journey! This can lead to many problems along the way that can eventually lead to death if not planned properly.

This blog was made due to my (unfortunate) personal experiences while traversing dungeons lol.

Do:

1. Food wise you'd have to bring something that would not rot easily and emit a large smell, something like dried meat, fruit, nuts, or vegetables can be brought into a dungeon without a problem as long as their kept either wrapped up or in a safe compartment. Also things like rice and bread are good for starch.

2. Bring a sleeping bag and a pillow, youre not going to find an inn in a place like a dungeon (unless youre on the first floor and/or are lucky idk), and will find yourself sleeping on not so comfortable places.

3. A spare change of clothes is something to consider. You WILL get dirty, you WILL have monster guts splashed all over you, and you WILL have to clean it off even if you have armor on!!

4. On that note bringing some kind of soap would be good for clothes, body, and hair, it doesnt have to be a lot, and it can be made from animal fat/lard.

5. If you don't have a spellcaster/sorcerer/wizard in your party, or do not have a party at all, bringing medical supplies is something I recommend bringing.

6. The same goes with a flint and steel, those things can come in handy when you need a light source for the night!

7. anything that can hold water, like a canteen, flask, waterskin, etc.

8. Rope is a good thing to bring for a variety of reasons, if it is strong it can help support your weight and possibly something larger.

DO NOT:

1. Bringing food/liquids that can easily spoil, this can attract animals and monsters, you do NOT want to bring milk DO NOT BRING MILK AND OTHER LIQUIDS LIKE IT!!

2. Bringing small trinkets, jewelry and/or valuable items into a dungeon that have personal value to you, those will be sought after by goblins, gnomes, harpies, and smaller dragons.

3. bring a funny looking/a "priceless"/ "legendary"/"never-before-seen" weapon or item/artifact you bought in the market or in a tavern by a shady person. Most of the time they either do not work the way it should, get stolen, break, or curse you the moment you use it. If you don't go on a mind bending death quest, or find it in a chest somewhere, its not worth it.
(DO NOT TRUST PIRATES IN THE TRADING BUSINESS DO NOT NEGOTIATE THEY WILL TRY AND SELL YOU SOME VERY FANCY VERY PRETTY JEWELRY AND YOU WILL GET CONNED).

4. bring a person that is stupid and an arrogant hotheaded, so much so that they sacrifice themselves out of sheer spite,,you do not want that to happen. Instead, either go solo or bring a party full of well balanced people that can fight well, but are also people you can grow with. It is good to find people you can love unconditionally when going on a long journey together.

I'll probably add on to this list as I go through my adventure.
I hope this was informative for you.

Stay safe Adventurers!
