Why did Judy's voice actress get replaced in Jetsons: The Movie

So in the Jetsons cartoon, Judy's voice actress is Janet Waldo. But in Jetsons: The Movie, her voice actress is Tiffany.

I do like Tiffany and she did Judy's voice really well but I like it when Janet Waldo voices her. She voiced her in the Jetsons cartoon, The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones and Rockin' With Judy Jetson. But not in Jetsons: The Movie.

In 1988, which is the same year Rockin' With Judy Jetson came out, Hanna-Barbera started production on a movie adaptation of The Jetsons. The original cast reprised their roles. In a later stage of production, Universal Studios and Tiffany's manager mandated that Judy's voice actress be recast. It would attract younger audiences and help promote Tiffany's career.

Meanwhile, Janet was unceremoniously let go from production and all of her lines got re-recorded by Tiffany. Janet was upset by the change as well the casting director, Andrea Romano. The two have even been asked to left uncredited for the film because of worry of blame for the decision.

The movie was originally going to be released in December of 1989 but it got postponed to July 6, 1990 to avoid competition. It failed at the box office and Tiffany's Judy impression was criticized.

It is unknown if Janet's lines for the movie have survived or are lost media. Hopefully they are found one day. I decided to write this blog entry because i was bored. Anyways, i need to go to bed. It's 1:31 am right now.
