Gatekeeping & visual-kei

I've noticed recently that a lot of people have been gatekeeping visual kei bands. I'm aware that this has always been a problem in the community, but I still feel this needs to be talked about.

visual-kei is already.. kinda dead, unfortunately. a lot of bands have disbanded, and fans are leaving the community, as well as newer people not taking the time to actually learn about vkei and making it out to be something it's not. 

so, gatekeeping is only putting the last nail in the coffin, because not only are they preventing newer people that could potentially revive the community from even getting the chance to explore the community, they're also causing bands to disband. it's not rocket science, guys; when bands don't get enough people to listen to them, they will die. 

to all you vkei fans that proudly gatekeep, you're contributing to vkei's downfall.
