the sky, burger king, and you

i keep forgetting to update this blog. every now and then i remember that i have a massive audience of maybe 5 people. they expect nothing but the utmost foppingly consistent posts.

last night i stayed the night at a friend’s house, we snuck out to ride bikes around 4:50 AM. i had to use his brother’s bike, so i had to use this fucking number:

i looked dopey as hell, but at least some guy on the highway got a good laugh at it.

the reason we had left in the first place was to go see our friend on his morning shift at the local Burger King. it wouldn’t be open until 5:30, so we just drove our bikes around a nearby empty parking lot. i looked up and saw the sun rising over pink clouds, shining so. power lines obscured the full view.

i think the reason that people find the skies so gorgeous in parking lots is because the warm and vibrant sky is a stark contrast to any cold parking lot. how could you not look up at that sky? the clouds move in unnoticeable rhythms, whispering to you that it will be there for you when you’re finished with your daily trivialities.

time passed and Burger King was now open. we pulled up to the drive-through, the only available option until 6:00 AM, and ordered one water. when we came to the window, we met with our friend and all we could do is laugh. all that trouble just to collapse on the concrete, teary eyed and laughing over a sentiment i have now forgotten the details of.

it was a pointless adventure that we got nothing out of.

it was the most fun i have had in weeks.
