POEM - The Consequences of Divinity on the Psyche

The Consequences of Divinity on the Psyche 

would God forgive lucifer 

if he begged for it 

if he got down on his hands and knees 

and pleaded for divine love back 

would God forgive him easily 

does comfort slip off the Lord’s tongue  

as naturally as I hope it does 

but who is lucifer to ask for forgiveness 

the first to go against His will 

His plan 

His love 

will the first sinner be pardoned if 

he is desperate to have the only love he has ever 

known back 

so desperate that he agrees that his words will no longer be his  

his thoughts will no longer be his 

no questions or doubts this time around 

no mistakes 

i hope that he is forgiven 

so that I can hope that He will forgive me 

for i have denied him too many times 

to be graced as a  

“good daughter”
