Miis and Nintendo

The eventual closing of Miitomo (2016-2018), a mobile game centered around Nintendo’s iconic customizable characters the “Mii,” was met with a massive heartbreak from all fans and users of the mobile game. Some feeling sad for their virtual character. Knowing it was gone forever and their homes empty, devoid of the happiness and joy it once had.

Some opted to believe their beloved Mii had simply moved out, going on to live in the Tomodachi Life’s apartments, likely older, even maybe with a different personality than before, and likely with a different appearance.

Tomodachi collection was released only in Japan in 2009. Tomodatchi life is a nintendo 3ds game, released in 2013 the sequel that was released worldwide.

Despite this, there is a growing discontentment with Nintendo. Following the phase-out on Miis from their titles. Many fans have expressed their desire for Nintendo to continue allowing their users usage of their Miis. Fans are further angered over the most recent generation of Nintendo consoles hiding away the “Mii Maker” in the console’s system settings.

The Mii Maker is a beloved app where the user can create Miis by selecting Skin Color, Eyes, Hair, Mouths, Noses, Ect. The iconic Mii Maker songs are well beloved by fans. First created during 2006, debuting with the fan favorite console: The “Wii.”

The Mii maker has become a staple favorite for many fans, with many re-uploads of variations of the theme from each console. Fans have once more been outraged when the newest console at the time, "The Nintendo Switch,” had a glaring lack of Mii theme, further isolating Miis from Nintendo’s identity. This angered fans.

Despite the addition of “Miitopia,” a Remastered version of the 3ds’ version that centered on Miis defeating enemies who stole the faces of other villagers, fans were still left yearning for more of their beloved Miis.

Furthermore, fans of the beloved title "Tomodachi Life," are hoping for a remaster port of the game onto a console of a newer generation.
