Bandages are for people who don't burn themselves

Unintentional at first but your carelessness has become a release, unnoticed at first but now it affects more than just me. I see the way you run red lights and don't look before you cross, now others have noticed how you always come home with scars, I can tell that your body pays the cost. I don't know if it started that way but you always have to pay your debts, whether by dedication, hard work, or a gun to the head.

You trade addiction for inaction and you've circled back around, when you promise its not the purpose but you let your arms put their cigarettes out. You rely on the relief that wrapping limbs back up gives and the cheap thrill of being yelled at like a kid.
