what are your thoughts on the Mage class? specifically its role as an "active" class :0
Hellooooo.
The Mage class isfor me as hard to analyse as the Void aspect, both of them where hardl explored during the comic long run, but here are some of my thought:
The Mage could be better understanded by using other terms, likew Druid (in the more Galician way of thinking of a Druid), the Druid used to recieve treats and gifts by the children of their village, in exchange, the Druids sealed the gosths of the other side, or helped with knowledge they were gifted by a god, the Mage is one that is Gifted the power of their Aspect, but, they are also sealed inside of it, some EX;
-Sollux, being the one with more dreamselves, something good, he was the one wit most probabilities to survive, ut also the one who died the most during Homestuck.
-The whole point of the Yellow blood caste of alternia is that they are so powerfull, they are doomed to slavery, invoking the mythical class of Mage in all their evoked ones.
-Meulin wasnt in Lord English fight, thanks to being so close to Kurloz, she was also, at least, Happy with her life (death?), but in the way, Kurloz using his powers created a whole other Meulin, the possesed one, that also ploted to give birth to Lord English, making Meulin somewhat responsible for all the events of Homestuck.
As you see, a Mage is one that is Helped by their aspect, but also tortured by it.
they are an active class because of how they use their knoledge of their aspect to shape reality, both Sollux and Mewlin are really responsible of the events of Homestuck (Sollux virus and the fact MEWLIN HELPED GAMZEE, SHE LITERALLY HELPED GIVE LORD ENGLISH A WAY OF EXISTING), meanwhile, their more pasive version, the Seer, shape reality more vaguely, leading other to take control (Rose traces the way to the new session, Terezi created a really good ecenario to Vriska play the hero and Kankri, or we may say, THE SINGLESS, was the head ann base to Karkat existence, prophesying the destruction of the Trolls native planet.
for me, the Mage class is:
One that HELPS trhought their ASPECT
and
One that is SLAVE to their ASPECT

ooo, never thought of a mage as being Gifted or in abundance of their aspect, almost like a balancing act. really interesting perspective!! ty!

HIIII, im really fucking surprised to see this, so I wanted to say, thank you, Im very gratefull for this oportunity at the spacehey homestuck fandom, I will keep uploading analysis, theorys and expalnations, but sorry if im a little late for it though, Im actually not from your time zone, and also, from my country im in winter and with classes (ughh, English isnt even my native language), but fortunatly, my winter break is beggining, so in no time a new analisys would be uploaded the 13th, keep shinning, goodbye :).
