Yesterday (polish time, I woke up recently) I got my ass to do this. I woke up, drank water, sat a little and thought about the things I could do except for messing around on my phone or my laptop. I touched my phone only 3 times that day, only to turn off the alarms (one for me, the second one for the person I want to be lmao), the second time to use a calculator (because ofc I messed up measurements while sewing) and to see what time it was. It was 23/11pm. I saw the tv screen a few times, but that's because it was on in the room next to the kitchen. Nothing interesting was airing, so it got my attention only for a few minutes in general.
In the beginning it felt like it's gonna be very difficult. After all, the world around me is quite messy no matter if I'm online or not. But after a while, the sweet nothingness became pleasant. The music felt different, I came back from my derealization (or whatever is that called, I forgot the term in both languages), I became interested in things around me almost like a kid again (almost, because that takes time to get back) and some of my appetite reappeared. The wind felt real and beautiful. I took a wonderful (and a bit long) nap too. There was a quite extended storm at night, but it wasn't scary. The night itself was strangely unnerving or spooky even, so after midnight when the day officially passed by, I came back to my internet friends to feel less alone.
I honestly feel much better and in place. Way calmer than before. Being online for so much time throughout the day makes a person SICK. The moment you realize that you don't have a conscious thought rattling around in your head, or you're detached from the world to the point that you pet a dog and don't feel like your hands are yours, catch that Sunday when barely anyone needs you and give your mind a rest. It's gonna be difficult, but possible to do. Slow down, stop. Human brain needs it, we are not meant to absorb that much information and we're not meant to be active all the time, nobody has to see us 24h a day. We're just blessed and doomed at the same time by the fact, that most of the world at the moment is functioning based on technology and noise.
