Cassie Ainsworth : Yes?

College Director : You're 43 minutes into a two-hour philosophy A-level paper and I'm pretty sure you haven't written anything yet.

Cassie Ainsworth : No.

College Director : Cassie... Everybody else has finished exams and started their holidays. Here I am running a re-scheduled exam especially for you. So are you going to write anything?

Cassie Ainsworth : I'm not sure.

College Director : What about?

Cassie Ainsworth : How long I can put off starting to write and still get an A. Is it possible to truly enjoy power?

College Director : Sorry?

Cassie Ainsworth : It's question three.

College Director : I'm not supposed to help you with your exam.

Cassie Ainsworth : I stopped eating and then everyone had to do what I said That was powerful.

College Director : And did you enjoy that?

Cassie Ainsworth : I think it was the happiest time of my life. But I had to stop before I died, because... otherwise it wasn't fun.

[the college director stares at her] 

Cassie Ainsworth : You wouldn't understand.

College Director : You're wrong, Cassie.

Cassie Ainsworth : Did you cut yourself, too?

College Director : People will do anything to... People will do anything to work out why they feel bad, won't they?

Cassie Ainsworth : And did you? Work it out?

College Director : Like I said, I'm not supposed to help you with your exam.
