Why I’m an atheist

I believe religion exists because of the human desire for normality or tranquility. It's comforting to believe that your life has a plan in place, that you can't fail and that there is always someone looking out for you. And it's comforting to believe that after you die there is something there for you, eternal happiness if you follow a set of rules. It gives your life a sense of structure and meaning. If Christianity is correct in every aspect and I’m a sinner who will burn in hell I’d still rather be an atheist. I’d rather live the life I want to live and go to hell. Hell is as comforting as heaven to me because I’ll still exist in a way even if it is just pain. I know I’ll die and that’ll be the end so why should I waste my one chance on a god?
